The Dawn of Change in Human Rights Movements

by GSR2016 .

Recently, they held a forum that was attended by activists from various countries and their aim was to discus pertinent issues threatening the lives of human beings in various parts and how injustices can be handled to restore order in certain societies. It was revealed that Thor Havlorssen was planning to travel to China to negotiate the release of Christian Bale, who acted “Batman”. He has been championing the truth and the rights of the marginalized.

Challenging institutions that are tasked with ensuring rights are respected has been among top priorities that Thor Havlorssen has pursued while in OSLO. His ideological differences from the rest come as a result of his boldness and unwavering support for respect and assurance of rights across all levels. Thor Havlorssen founded his organization in 2005, and he began advocating for equal rights since 1989. He could organize opposition to the South African apartheid in a bid to ensure all were treated with equity and equality.

Thor Havlorssen clearly understands the importance of human rights based on his experience of violation. His father, a diplomat working as an ambassador, was arbitrarily arrested in 1993 and tortured heavily before he was falsely imprisoned while in Venezuela. This forced him to intervene and to involve Amnesty International, an effort that bore fruits and helped his father to walk free from the cells. His family has been targeted severally, including recently when his cousin, Leopoldo Lopez, was imprisoned by the government in 2014.

The views and opinions expressed by Thor Havlorssen have been published and aired on leading news outlets like Time, Fox News, BBC, CNN and HBO. Thor Havlorssen has used his skills as a film producer to make films that focus on human rights and freedoms. Thor Havlorssen has also been locked up severally for standing up to defend the vulnerable and for upholding his bid to cleanse the society of injustices.

Texas Innovation: Mark Sparks Provides Incentive For Social Service Organizations

by GSR2016 .

If you have ever worked in a social service organization or non-profit, you are likely aware of how important fundraising can be. In fact, oftentimes, there are a lot of smaller projects that never get started because the funds are just not there to make them become a reality.

Recently, however, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, entrepreneur Mark Sparks and his team have created a venture capital style competition that puts some fun and some spirit into the process of trying to add social services for the community.

The money is there

One of the nice things about the competition is that money is already set aside to reward the winners. If you have a compelling project that will make a difference, presenting it well can indeed provide you with the financial opportunity to make it happen.  Learn more about Marc Sparks: https://angel.co/marcsparks3 and http://whoismarcsparks.com/

There is more than one deadline

The project is known as SparkTank and the competition that it has created for 2016 will be segmented into three rounds. Each round will have a winner that ends up taking home a check. So if you are a non-profit that isn’t ready to compete to get funding for your idea, you can work on it over the Summer and apply later this year in a different round.

How do contestants compete?

Although it would be easy to get caught up in a much more elaborate process, the non-profits that want to enter SparkTank’s competition merely need to submit an application that outlines what it is that they would like to accomplish. After the application has been reviewed, the board makes call-backs and then asks for a 10 minute presentation, followed by 10 minutes of question and answer time so that they can understand your idea completely.

What types of social services are eligible?

As the SparksTankDFW.com website details, contestants need to be a non-profit that has been in business for two years or more. Beyond that, while it is possible to compete as a faith-based charity, politically affiliated non-profits are not allowed. In general, serving people, animals, or the arts are all areas where the bulk of the contestants come from.

One recent finalist envisioned a food truck that would serve homeless people. Not only would they provide meals to those that needed them in the community, they would also try and take people where they needed to go if they were lacking transportation. A truly mobile outreach service that was recognized as being one of three finalists.

Although Marc Sparks has been successful so far, it is hard to know how much they plan to expand. Mark Sparks has a track record of growing businesses and community service throughout Texas. It wouldn’t be surprising, then to see the concept spread to other cities in the coming years.

George Soros is supporting Humanity through the Open Society Foundation

by GSR2016 .

George Soros is the chairperson of the Soros Fund Management and also the Open Society Foundation. He has been an adamant supporter of leadership that is always advocating for peace and coexistence in the society. George Soros has been in the forefront of funding political campaigns whose ideologies are based on democracy rather than authoritarian leadership.

His birth place is Hungary where he fled from the country due to the Nazi evasion and continued his studies in England and later moved to the United States of America where George Soros is currently settled. Apart from being involved heavily in business he also spares most of his time getting involved in philanthropic activities. His company is mainly involved in managing funds for various institutions and getting profits at the end.

It due to this independence and speaking out his mind as the chair and founder of Open Society Foundation that other people are not happy with. The result has been impersonations and other activities that are not of goodwill to the group. John O’Keefe, a Conservative activist, has been one of the individuals involved in trying to get information from the organization’s employees. He made a call posing as “Victor Kesh” to force his way into the operations of the groups. His intentions have not been known yet, but George Soros’ foundation continues to support and act in the best ethical manner.

George Soros is always independent and due to his struggles he is ready to support causes that are aimed at improving the needs of the society. George Soros is an author and his literary works also involves entrepreneurship and investment advice to the economy. As a philanthropist, he started his activities back in the year 1979 when he felt that it was time to invest in humanitarian support.

George Soros is the chair of the Open Society Foundation that he founded in 1979. The society bases its ideologies on the fact that we cannot understand the world. All that said we have to make the world a better place for people to coexist and we can’t wait for someone else to act on behalf of us, we have to it ourselves.

George Soros believes in a just world where all people are equal. He is not regretting, but he is optimistic that all that he wishes for is a society that is ready to accommodate the rest of the society.

Injustice is on the rise, and this is one of the main reasons that he is fighting against in the judicial system in the society. Open Society Foundation is a foundation that is involved in funding humanitarian activities in the world for equality to be found. George Soros has been in lock horns with various individuals in the society because of his independent reasoning and thinking that is not positively welcomed by another individual in the society.
